

Dr. Nii-Kotey Djane
The visionary behind the establishment of IIST, Dr. Djane founded the institution in 2014 to honor the legacy of Nii Kotey Amli I and to contribute to Ghana’s scientific and technological development. His dedication to educational progress and national advancement continues to shape the Institute’s mission and foundational philosophy.

Professor James Hawkins Ephraim
James Hawkins Ephraim, is a Professor of Chemistry with rich experience in teaching, research and administration. As a Physical-Inorganic chemist, who obtained his PhD in 1985 from S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo, his research interests include distribution, speciation and mobility of trace metal ions and low-molecular organic acids in aquatic and terrestrial environments. For 10 years Prof. Ephraim was a visiting Scientist at the Linköping University, Sweden and a member of the Chemistry Group of the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company, SKB. Prof. Ephraim is both an academic and an administrator has served in several establishments since his return in 1997. Prof. Ephraim, is a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Gad Ayikwei Sackey
A cybersecurity and IT professional with advanced academic training in the United States, holding a Master of Science in Management Information Systems (MIS) from American University and a Master of Information Technology (MIT) from Virginia Tech. He leads IIST’s cybersecurity curriculum development, digital innovation initiatives, and technology partnerships.
